Corporate Workshops and Coaching A team of professional actors will devise and create workshops, tailor-made for your specific needs. Our sessions range from the one to one to large residential courses. We have worked with students and clients from every background; bank staff, recruitment consultants through to students, with special needs, preparing for their first job interviews. We have also facilitated in primary and senior schools, independent youth groups, drama schools, colleges and universities. We offer a thorough foundation in spatial awareness, an exploration of body language and voice production, as well as text and dramaturgical based sessions. We aim to build a greater understanding of the self, encourage an ensemble spirit and access individual creativity so that solutions are always imaginative. A lifetime spent exercising the art of performance and thus developing communication skills on every level, has placed us actors in a unique position to pass on these skills - in an enjoyable and entertaining manner. Childrens Storytelling and Young Person's Workshops | A wide-ranging workshop facility for children aged 5 yrs to 12yrs. Using stories, either given or devised, Siobhán works with groups participating imaginatively towards a performed presentation of a piece of theatre. This work is rooted firmly in the belief that Theatre heals and the human psyche - especially that of a child - is nourished when our worlds can be processed, expressed and eventually understood through the telling of stories. The structure of workshops varies according to the project: The Nutcracker [for children aged 5yrs to 8yrs] was adapted especially for a group of eight children coming together once a week for an hour after school. On the seventh session the story was "told" to the parents with touches of costume and a few specific props. No script had been learnt but the children had absorbed the story so thoroughly that most could "improvise" and certainly guide each other through the "performed" narrative. The same process was undertaken for Phillydulallyishmore an original piece specially written for the same children who had asked for a story about leprechauns. For Ring From The Sea [original piece set in Brighton] the story telling took place over a week in the summer holidays during which - with the collaboration of the artist Gus Munro - the worlds beneath the sea and on the beach were created. On the final afternoon, the children travelled through the story scene by scene on a picturescape across the hall with Jake [aged six] as master of ceremonies. Bugsy Malone was especially adapted and directed for a full production performed by the year six girls at Bute House, London with rehearsals taking place throughout the Summer Term. A Christmas Carol [original adaptation from the Dickens] again took place at Bute House but in the Christmas vacation with thirty girls from the school [age range 5yrs to 12 yrs]. This was a weeklong project collaborating with the musician Lisa Cowling and culminating in a performance for the parents on the final afternoon - December 17th 2004. | |
